Ernie Ball has introduced a limited edition set of custom wound James Hetfield signature Slinky strings. The new hardwired Master Core signature string sets, co-developed with Metallica's James Hetfield over the past decade, have been designed to meet his demanding performance requirements. This signature set features James's preferred 11-50 gauge combination, utilizing thicker Paradigm core wire and plasma-enhanced nickel-plated steel wrap wire, resulting in a heavier sound with extra pitch stability - ideal for James's aggressive style and technique.

The Plain strings within this set consist of Paradigm core wire with brass RPS reinforcement at the ball end, providing added strength and tuning stability. These limited edition signature sets are housed in a durable tin box featuring custom graphics and artwork designed by James himself. The compact, highly collectible tin box includes three signature string packs.

The Papa Het gauge combination for this set is .011, .014, .018, .028, .038, .050, marking the first time this specific configuration has been offered. The heavier core to wrap ratio, achieved through the use of Paradigm plasma-enhanced nickel-plated steel wound strings, and the Paradigm ultra-high strength tin-plated steel plain strings and core wire, contribute to the unique tonal characteristics of this signature release.
